Connecticut Telephone Books

This list is based on all Connecticut telephone books that I have seen and indexed. The period I am best acquainted with is the 1960s. During that period, the Greenwich telephone directory was published by the New York Telephone Company; all others were published by the Southern New England Telephone Company. I have also prepared a map of the coverage areas of each book.

Size: small is ~ 6"x9", med. is ~ 7"x9.5", large is ~ 9"x11"
Known years: years of publication that I have seen. The 1905 Connecticut phone book says that it was issued in January, April, July, and October; the July, 1906 Connecticut Business book says that it was the first issue, and would be published twice a year.
Additional cities in white and yellow pages: cities listed, in addition to those mentioned in the title. The 1905 Connecticut has only white pages; the 1906 Connecticut Business has only yellow pages.
White pages only: cities listed in white pages but not yellow pages.
Operating company: The Southern New England Telephone Company (SNET) serves all of Connecticut except Greenwich. Greenwich is served by the New York Telephone Company. SNET was bought by SBC in 1998. SBC merged with AT&T in 2005.
